Isuru Sevana Kuruwita Orphanage

Isuru Sevana Orphange is a government run children's home for under five year olds in the village of Kuriwita. All children in the centre come through the commissioner of probation and childcare, thus they are children who have either lost one or both of their parents, have been abandoned, or have come from problematic or abusive backgrounds. Part of the funding allocated to the project in Kurawita was used to purchase new mattresses for the children.

There were 8 beds and 4 cots in the centre which were all replaced. Other mattresses were donated but were the wrong size for the beds so are useless. For the pre-school in the children's centre, funds were used to provide a blackboard. We will also painted the building as the building had not been painted since it was built. We also provided some teaching aids to assist in the children's learning.

Please note that Madventurer no longer operates in Sri Lanka but we do have ongoing projects in Thailand and India.
