Eratna Hospital

Eratna Maha Vidyalaya School is the main school for Eratna and the only school which teaches up to A-Level standard in the area. We built four pit latrine facilities and a water system that pumps water up from a nearby spring. So far the school had only one usable toilet for the children and one for staff, as well as a small urinal area for the nursery children. These were in a dangerous state of disrepair and this was not adequate for the 650 children in the school and did nothing to help create a safe and welcoming learning environment as well as helping to spread disease.

In Eratna Hospital we also painted the paediatric ward and created a small safe children's play area both for the inpatients and for the visiting children of adult patients.The hospital had a disused room which was been made available for this.
