Update from MAD HQ: Umanes Water Pipe

This follow up Madventurer project will be focusing on the second stage of a water project in Umanes. Previous to Madventurer's work Umanes was using a water supply that provided the village with water only two times a week, and was also fast approaching extinction. This meant that the water supply often did not meet the needs of the villagers, which would have forced them to drink and use water from stagnant pools in the village during the rainy season, and a lake used for animals' drinking water during the rest of the year, if Madventurer had not begun this work.

We have linked an underground source of plentiful water with the community's water storage tank, using an electric pump and water pipes. Now begins the work of installing and extending a network of water pipes to link the storage tank with villagers' houses, so that villagers can benefit from this new water supply. Currently only half the houses in Umanes have a direct supply of water, which significantly limits standards of life, hygiene and opportunities in the community.
