Update from MAD HQ: Huatata Water Project

Water supply project to replace and extend the current water pipe system in the village, supplying clean water to the community.When Mad started work there in July 2007 the village's water supply was insufficient to serve the whole community.

We worked replacing the old pipes and extending the network to serve all houses and avoid the population having to drink water from untreated water sources - mostly stagnant pools - unfit for human consumption.

Following this project the local council was able to secure funds to carry on with the project and finish extending the network to the whole village, however due to lack of funds they have had to stop short of the final phase, which is the installation of taps and basic washing facilities, so Mad is aiming to finish the final stage of this project towards the end of 2008.
