Shia

John Lawler, chief at Madventurer, spent his own gap year in Shia and it was helping out in this village that the concept of Madventurer took place.

Check out our chief's story here - www.madventurer.com/page/mad-chief

Since then we have achieved the following in the one village alone…

Renovated a 3 classroom block at Shia Secondary School (Mad's first ever project!)

Built a 4 classroom block at the EP Primary School

Renovated 4 classrooms at the RC Primary SchoolBuilt 2 KVIP 12 seater toilet blocks for the different clans in the village

Erected 60 new electricity pylons to help bring power to the village

Established a Seedling Nursery Project to help grow trees to be planted around the community to provide sustainable sources of firewood.

New computers have also been purchased for the Senior Secondary School including software and educational DVDs that were donated by our friends at the Discovery Channel
