Aveme Gboxome Primary School

The village of Aveme Gboxome is reached by dirt track and is a small rural community set in the west of Volta Region

The building project is to re-build a 3 classroom LA primary block, with front veranda, small store and staff common room. The community began work on the school in 1998 with funding assistance from the District Assembly. Just a year later in 1999, heavy storms destroyed the building beyond repair.

At the moment the school stands with no roof, incomplete walls, no floors and no doors or windows. Due to the sorry state of the school it has been hard to recruit teachers as nobody wants to teach in such bad conditions. So presently, there are only 3 teachers for 6 classes and three classes are taught under temporary shelters
