Hi!
I will apologise in advance if this is a really disappointing blog. So I haven´t written in a week, and there isn´t that much to report!
It is Saturday now, and Cat and I have travelled to Cusco for the weekend. We met up with Kyle and Charlie, last night and we went for dinner and drinks. This ended up being a pretty long night, and as a result I am somewhat lagging today. We went to Jack´s Cafe for lunch for the 3rd time. It is just too good, and the queue that never ceases to extend out of the door speaks volumes. If it is good enough for Cameron Diaz afterall (the photo on the wall does not lie), then it is good enough for me! So when we return to the house tomorrow, I will begin my last week teaching at my placement school, and living with the Orchmeacha (can´t spell it) Salas family. I leave for Santiago Chile early Saturday morning. I have to fly Cusco to Lima, with a 10 hour transit there (longggg), and then to Santiago arriving about 2am in the morning. Looking forward to a new adventure in a new country. Peru has been totally amazing, and I have met some fantastic people, but I feel the time is right for a change now :)
I am trying to rack my brains, and think if there is anything that I need to fill in about this week... Wednesday school was called off early as the teachers decided to strike. Then Friday I had a pretty awful day of teaching, in which my support partner teacher, who is supposed to be there to control the kids... in Spanish. Yes, well he told me he would be back in 5 mins, and was gone for an hour and a half. I really don´t know where he went, but it was not the first time that it had happened. After the lesson ended, I just decided to leave. A rash, hotheaded decision, and I spent the rest of the day saying ´Cat, cat was I ridiculous? Have I been stupìd". Pretty irritating, but I blame the hair.
Oooo before I forget. In other news, Laura is soon to be booking her flights to Rio. This means a week of best friend time, R&R relaxation in a top hotel on Copacobana beach at the end of my trip before I return to Sunny old England in July. Literally the best news :) To say that I am a little bit excited for this spot of luxury, is definitely an understatement!
Right, I warned that it would be a boring blog. Apologies again. The next will be from new foreign lands, so hopefully with lots more tales to tell. Off to try to find a suitable present to give to my host family, to thank them for their amazing hospitality. They have been aaaamazing! :)
Until Chile...
Ciao!
